Libertadores Champion Against The Sudamericana Winner
The battle to find the ultimate champion of South American soccer is coming to beIN SPORTS with the 2026 Recopa Sudamericana.
The victors of the 2025 Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores will go head-to-head over two legs on February 19th and February 26th. The 2026 edition will be a thrilling match-up between Argentina and Brazil as Lanus and Flamengo face off for the 2026 Recopa Sudamericana crown.
Sudamericana Winner Path
Lanus, from the province of Buenos Aires, won the club's second ever Copa Sudamericana trophy after a penalty-shootout win over Brazilian side, Atletico Mineiro. This victory put Lanus straight into the group stages of the 2026 Copa Libertadores as well as the Recopa Sudamericana final.
Flamengo's Path
Another giant from Brazil is the next challenge for Lanus as Flamengo looks to continue an incredible run of form under coach, Filipe Luis. The former Atletico Madrid and Flamengo defender took over the side in September 2024 and has since won the 2024 Copa do Brasil, the 2025 Serie A title and the 2025 Copa Libertadores. Flamengo will also look to the newly-arrived midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, for inspiration in the midfielder's biggest challenge since moving from West Ham United in January.
Clashes between Argentinean and Brazilian clubs are always more than about football, and this 2026 edition of the Recopa Sudamericana is no different as nothing will be left on the pitch by the players.
