Al-Hilal 2-0 NEOM: Inzaghi's side take title race to the wire
Al-Hilal got the win they needed to keep their hopes of snatching the Saudi Pro League title from under Al-Nassr's noses alive.
Al-Hilal ensured the Saudi Pro League title race would go to the final matchday, following a 2-0 victory over NEOM at Kingdom Park.
With leaders Al-Nassr in Champions League final action on Saturday, goals from Ruben Neves and Sultan Mandash kept the Blue Waves' hopes alive by moving them within two points of Jorge Jesus' side.
The hosts were awarded a penalty in the eighth minute when Mohammed Al-Burayk bundled over Theo Hernandez, with Neves confidently tucking away the spot-kick.
Luciano Rodriguez and Alexandre Lacazette had chances soon after, as the visitors sought a response.
However, Al-Hilal doubled their lead and ultimately secured the three points in the 58th minute, as Malcom's low ball across the penalty area was turned in at the far post by Mandash.
It means the outcome of the title will be determined on Thursday, when Simone Inzaghi's side must beat Al-Fayha and hope Al-Nassr are beaten by Damac.
Data Debrief: 600 up for Al-Hilal
Al-Hilal became the first team in Saudi Pro League history to score 600 home goals in the competition.
The Blue Waves, who remain unbeaten this season, have now won each of their last 14 home league games against promoted sides, scoring two or more goals on each occasion.
Neves has also now scored in each of his last five appearances against promoted teams, while five of his seven such goals in the Saudi Pro League have come from the penalty spot.
NEOM have failed to win any of their last 11 matches when conceding first in the Saudi League, since a victory over Al-Kholood on 30th October 2025.
