The 32nd edition of the South American Supercup will take place on the upcoming days of February 22 and 29. The current champions of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana, Fluminense and Liga de Quito respectively, will face each other.
Fluminense secured their place in the Supercup by defeating Boca Juniors 2-1 on November 4 in the Libertadores final. As they clinched their first trophy in this competition, the match against Liga de Quito will mark Tricolor's debut.
On the other hand, Liga de Quito earned their spot in this tournament after defeating Fortaleza from Brazil in a penalty shootout that ended 4-3. The match against Flu will be the third occasion in which the King of Ecuador's Cups will compete in the Supercup; in their previous two editions, they emerged victorious after defeating Internacional and Estudiantes in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
