U.S. Fans Won’t See Lamine Yamal
The Spanish player will not be present on Barcelona's tour of North American lands.
After beating England 2-1 and winning the 2024 Euro Cup, Barcelona will give three weeks of vacation to Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Pedri González. Pedri will be out for at least a month due to an injury. Because of this, the team won’t have these three players for the friendlies in the United States against Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.
With Yamal, Ferran, and Pedri absent, Barcelona won’t face any penalties for their absences during the tour. Both Hansi Flick's coaching staff and the management prefer to prioritize their rest and have them ready for the start of La Liga. It’s worth mentioning that when Lionel Messi was still at Barça, the club did face financial penalties for his absences since fans mainly came to see him play.
Barcelona will receive 12 million euros (13 million dollars) for playing the three matches in Orlando, New Jersey, and Baltimore.
Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres will be back with the team by Monday, August 12, when the club plays the Joan Gamper Trophy, five days before the local league starts. However, many of Barcelona's stars like Robert Lewandowski, Marc ter Stegen, Gündogan, and Frenkie de Jong will be present with the team during the U.S. tour.
