The Unusual Offer from Ryan Reynolds to Gareth Bale to Come Out of Retirement
Gareth Bale continues to make headlines in the football world. A year after his retirement, the 34-year-old former footballer remains on the radar of a club determined to achieve the impossible and secure his signing: Wrexham, owned by actor Ryan Reynolds.
The team, competing in England's League One, is trying to convince the Welshman to come out of retirement and play for them. The club's co-owner, Rob McElhenney, has prepared a rather peculiar offer to make it happen.
Speaking to The Athletic, McElhenney declared that he would allow Bale to play golf as much as he wants (his passion): "We'll let him play golf whenever he wants. As long as he comes to training... we'll then figure out how to integrate him into the team."
Gareth Bale officially hung up his boots last June, playing for LAFC. At that time, the Briton declared it had been "the most difficult decision of his entire career."
