The Blue Card that Will Revolutionize Football
Strong news in the world of football, as a new reality could be about to begin. This is due to a new rule that, according to "The Telegraph," the IFAB (International Football Board Association) is considering introducing, applying a blue card for referees to take various disciplinary measures against players and coaching staff.
The main goal of this new disciplinary measure is to reduce or limit the number of protests and complaints that referees receive during the course of the match. Thus, this new blue card could be applied to players and coaching staff to expel them for 10 minutes off the field, putting their team at a disadvantage for a specific amount of time.

Among the consequences that this card may have is that two blue cards will equate to a red card and suspension from the next match. Similarly, a yellow and a blue card will result in the same punishment (a red card and suspension from the following match).
Likewise, Lukas Brud, a member of the IFAB, acknowledged that they are working to make this new rule a clear reality. They are also working on other rules where the team captain is the only one allowed to have a dialogue with the referee.
"We have identified players' bad behavior as a serious problem for football. We are examining what we can do through changes in the rules of the game. A scheduled expulsion could be a greater deterrent than a warning. Also, there is a lot of interest from various stakeholders in the idea that only the captain can approach the referee correctly," commented Brud.

The blue card still does not have an official date for implementation in official matches; however, the English Football Association (FA) has volunteered to test this card in the next edition of the FA Cup for both men and women next summer. This ensures that it will not be implemented in the next edition of the Eurocup or the Champions League.
