Iconic Argentine Fan 'Tula' Passes Away"
The greatest Argentine fan has passed away at the age of 83.
Renowned for his fervent love for football, unwavering support for the Argentine national team, and his passionate dedication to the sport, Carlos "Tula" Pascual will always be remembered as the greatest fan the Albiceleste had throughout his 83 years of life. However, on February 7, 2024, he passed away in his homeland, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the birthplace of sports passion where football could be considered a religion.
This fan was the first supporter to accompany the Argentine national team to the World Cups, starting with the 1974 World Cup in West Germany, where the host nation became champion by defeating the mighty Netherlands 2-1. From there, he embarked on a journey that would not stop until the recent World Cup in Qatar 2022, where he had the privilege and luck to witness the Albiceleste, led by Messi, becoming champions before his passing.
The importance of Carlos Pascual was such that it caught the attention of FIFA, and in January 2023, he was awarded "The Best" prize as the best fan of the previous year (2022).
Today, football bids farewell to one of its greatest enthusiasts—a fan who will be remembered on countless magazine covers, websites, and in the minds of everyone who encountered him in a stadium. Rest in peace, Carlos "Tula" Pascual.
