Ochoa: First Mexican Keeper to Concede 1000 Club Goals
Guillermo Ochoa had a record-filled afternoon in the Salernitana's match against Cagliari. Firstly, he reached 300 official games with European clubs, and later, after a 2-4 defeat, he became the first Mexican goalkeeper to concede 1000 goals in club football.
With Salernitana, Ochoa has now conceded 75 goals, and the team's current situation is challenging, as they are at the bottom of Serie A with 14 points, close to relegation, adding another chapter to the challenges faced by the Mexican goalkeeper.
The club where Ochoa conceded the most goals was the same one where he made his debut: Club América, where he let in more than half of the total goals, with 525 goals received, split between his first stint and his return after several years in Europe.
The other teams Ochoa played for include Ajaccio (186 goals), Standard Liege (113), Granada (82), and Malaga (19).
