Mesut Özil Mocks Atletico Madrid Over New "Blue Card"
The soccer world was shaken by the announcement of the introduction of new blue cards, a proposal by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
According to The Telegraph, this new rule will begin testing in the summer. It involves sending a player off for 10 minutes if they commit a technical foul or insult the referee.
On this occasion, former footballer Mesut Özil decided to speak out on social media about the issue. On his X account, the World Cup champion referred to Atlético Madrid as the team that would be most affected by this situation.
"So Atlético Madrid will only play with 6 players?" remarked the former Real Madrid player.
Let's recall that Özil played for Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, enough time for him to have gotten to know Atlético Madrid and make such a bold statement.
