Lewandowski Feels "Satisfied" with His Season Start
Robert Lewandowski, currently with his national team ahead of the UEFA Nations League kickoff and the top scorer in LaLiga, expressed his satisfaction with Barcelona's start and his current stage in his career, while also acknowledging that "due to age, there are moments that will never come back."
"We started well, sometimes we stumble, and sometimes we get it right, but the season is long, and many things can still happen," said the Polish striker.
Lewandowski has already scored four goals in as many matches in Spain's top division, matching Lionel Messi's feat in the 2018/2019 season. He described this moment as a mix of "confidence on one side and calmness on the other."
The recent retirement announcement of his national teammate and friend, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, prompted Lewandowski to reveal a more philosophical side. He mentioned that his "attitude towards life and sport has changed" and that he now "approaches things differently to enjoy certain aspects without regrets in the future."
"Lewi" was hesitant to reflect on his or his team's performance in this summer's European Championship in Paris, where Poland failed to advance beyond the first round. Instead, he said he is "focused on the upcoming matches against Scotland and Croatia," describing them as "very good and interesting opponents" as Poland begins its Nations League campaign.
