Jürgen Klopp, Excited About His New Professional Adventure
German coach Jürgen Klopp, named this Wednesday as "Global Head of Football" for the Austrian energy drink multinational Red Bull, stated that he "couldn't be more excited to participate in a project" that will unfold over the next five years, starting in January 2025.
In a statement on his social media, the German coach indicated that "by working with Red Bull on a global scale," his "goal is to develop, improve, and promote the incredible footballing talent" they have "at their disposal."
"There are many ways to achieve this, by leveraging Red Bull's elite knowledge and experience to learn from other sports and industries. Together we can discover what is possible," he detailed.
Klopp noted that, although his "role has changed," his "passion for football, and for the people who make this sport what it is, remains the same." He sees himself as a "mentor to the coaches and executives of the Red Bull clubs."
"Ultimately, I am part of a unique, innovative, and forward-thinking organization. As I said, I couldn't be more thrilled about this," he reflected.
Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Investments and Corporate Projects at Red Bull and the main person involved in hiring the coach for the company, stated they are "proud of this exceptional signing, certainly the strongest in Red Bull football history."
"Jürgen Klopp is one of the biggest and most influential personalities in world football, with exceptional skills and charisma. In his role as director of football, he will continue our commitment to international football. We hope he provides valuable and decisive contributions in key areas to make the clubs even better collectively and individually," he concluded.
