Algeria looks to build on AFCON opening win with a victory against Burkina Faso

Although Algeria’s comprehensive 3-0 win over Sudan in the team’s opening AFCON 2025 game was highly expected, the sense of relief and euphoria in the stadium from the fans was akin to the final having been won.

That outpouring of emotions stemmed from the win in Rabat being the first Africa Cup of Nations finals victory for the Fennec Foxes since Algeria won the whole of AFCON 2019.
