Peseiro Praises Nigeria's Key Virtue
The coach of the "Super Eagles" praised the key quality of his team that has allowed them to reach the decisive match after the semifinal against South Africa.
Nigeria will face Ivory Coast in the grand final of the AFCON 2023 after defeating South Africa in the semifinals, not without tremendous effort. A match that required a penalty shootout to determine its winner.
Their coach, Jose Peseiro, praised his players' performance after the match and couldn't be more satisfied with the team's work. "The players are happy. They deserve it. Nigeria deserve it, the 'Super Eagles' deserve it," commented the Portuguese strategist.
"It was a great victory against a great team," said Peseiro before praising the great virtue that has led his team to the decisive match of the tournament.
"We have a great team, and the players have a great spirit. They fight together," assured the coach. To illustrate this, he cited the example of Moffi and Iheanacho, stars in their teams who were not starters against South Africa but came on as substitutes later.
"They came on with the same determination as the others. It's amazing," praised Peseiro, while also complimenting South Africa, a team he said also "deserved" to be in the final and "did a great job."
