Mozambique Secure AFCON Spot with a Thrilling Win against Benin
The Mozambique National Team fought against the tide to secure a victory (3-2) against Benin, who were also vying for their qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Unfortunately for the home team, Steve Mounié capitalized on a penalty to put Benin ahead around the 20th minute. However, there was a quick response from Chiquinho Conde's team.
First, Witi struck an unstoppable shot from inside the box in the 27th minute, and just four minutes later, Ricardo Guimarães made his national team debut and gave them the lead.
Jodel Dossou, who plays for Sochaux, leveled the score once again with a fantastic long-range strike in the 50th minute.
With this result, Mozambique was on course for the Africa Cup of Nations, but then came a fantastic goal from Clésio Bauque in added time, sealing the victory for Mozambique after a great pass from Geny Catamo.
