Following a historic World Cup for an African team and the best performance in Moroccan history in World Cups, Morocco is now aiming high: to be the Kings of Africa by winning AFCON 2023. They started their journey against Tanzania, who aspires to be the giant killer.
Morocco Demonstrate Why It's the Favorite in AFCON 2023 Debut
With a starting eleven under Regragui's guidance, filled with stars in each position – Hakimi in defense, a midfield featuring Amrabat and Ounahi, and an offensive trident with Abde-En Nesyri-Ziyech – Tanzania found themselves trailing 1-0 in the first half.
However, Miroshi's expulsion in the 70th minute opened up the offensive for Morocco. In just four minutes, they scored two goals, sealing the match with a 3-0 victory. Morocco starts their AFCON 2023 campaign on a high note, remaining the sole leader in Group F.
