Ghana Stage Remarkable Comeback to Secure 2023 AFCON Qualification
In a thrilling encounter, Ghana came from behind to defeat the Central African Republic with a final score of 2-1. Despite being the home team, the Black Stars struggled to gain control of the contest, particularly during the early stages of the first half.
The visiting team, Central African Republic, launched an impressive start to the game, causing numerous difficulties for the Black Stars. This pressure eventually paid off as they took the lead with a goal from striker Louis Mafouta in the 25th minute. However, falling behind seemed to ignite a fire within the Black Stars. They intensified their efforts to equalize, and their persistence bore fruit just moments before the halftime whistle when Mohammed Kudus found the back of the net.
In the second half, Ghana continued to press forward, and their determination paid off. Substitute Ernest Nuamah became the hero of the day by scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute, sealing a remarkable 2-1 victory for the Black Stars.
Today's comeback triumph secured Ghana's qualification for the 2023 AFCON, set to take place in Ivory Coast.
