The Moto2 rider was arrested on Wednesday in Valencia, Spain and was sentenced to a one-year driving ban. Barbera was caught in a similiar situation in 2013 and was later caught driving with a suspended license.

Following the latest events in Valencia with the driver Héctor Barberá on the night of 07/06/18, today 08/06/18 PONS Racing and Héctor Barberá rescinded the contract of mutual agreement that united them for the current season 2018.
