Leao confirms talks with Milan over potential exit
Rafael Leao has revealed he held talks with AC Milan about a potential exit this transfer window, but he still does not know where his future lies.
The 27-year-old has two years left on his current contract at the Rossoneri, with Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur all linked with the forward.
Leao joined Milan from Lille in 2019 and has gone on to make 291 appearances for the Serie A giant, scoring 80 goals and providing 55 assists.
Milan finished fifth in Serie A last season, missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification under Massimiliano Allegri, who has since been replaced by former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim in the coach's role.
While Leao does not know which club he will be playing for by the end of the transfer window, he insisted he will continue to give his all while at Milan.
"I’ve already spoken with the club about the possibility of trying a new experience," said Leao on Brazilian podcast Podpah.
"I don’t know what will happen, I have to show up at Milanello on 29 July, and as long as I’m there, I will always give my best and respect the shirt that has given me everything.
"It’s a club that has helped me a lot in so many different ways, but in life, you have other ambitions as well.
"I will study the options, but for now, I remain a Milan player."
Milan faces Celtic, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United in pre-season friendlies before its Serie A campaign starts on 24 August (AEST) against Torino.
