The Rossoneri are still unbeaten after eight Serie A games under the former Manchester United boss, amassing 18 points.

Having been thrashed 3-0 by Bournemouth in the Europa League last week, Milan responded with a 2-0 league win at Udinese on Monday.

Milan is on the cusp of winning three Serie A matches in a row for the first time in 2026.

Milan last did so between November and December 2025 (against Inter, Lazio and Torino on that occasion).

the Rossoneri have a big week ahead of them, as their midweek clash with Bologna comes three days before the first Derby della Madonnina of the season, against Inter at San Siro.

Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila and Diego Moreira will all reportedly miss the Bologna game, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek will reportedly miss around a month after sustaining a knee issue.

But Cardinale says Amorim has done an excellent job of managing his undermanned group.

"The team continues to improve and has shown great resilience after the disappointing match in Europe," the managing partner of RedBird Capital said.

"Ruben has managed rotations and substitutions well. All of this puts us in a good condition ahead of Wednesday's home game."

Bologna has eight points on the board after eight games, having won 2-0 at Cagliari last time out with Nicolo Casale and Federico Bernardeschi on the scoresheet.
