Chivu pens new Inter deal through to 2028
Cristian Chivu has put pen to paper on a contract extension to keep him in charge of Inter through to June 2028.
Chivu enjoyed a stellar first season in charge of Inter, leading it to the Serie A and Coppa Italia double after replacing Simone Inzaghi ahead of the Club World Cup.
He took charge of 58 games in all competitions, winning 38.
Chivu became the fifth manager to win the Scudetto in his first season with Inter in Serie A.
By adding the Coppa Italia, the Romanian rewrote the record books once again, becoming the only coach in Inter's history to win both competitions in the same year, both as a player and as a coach.
Inter scored 89 goals this season, the same number as in its previous two Scudetto-winning seasons.
The Nerazzurri wrapped up their Scudetto win against Chivu's former side, Parma, on 3 May with three games remaining.
Inter begins the 2026-2027 at home to Monza.
