The 21 year-old's previous contract was set to expire in 2030, but he has been rewarded for a breakthrough campaign in 2025-2026.

The striker scored 11 goals and provided six assists across 50 games (including the Club World Cup), though only 23 came as a starter.

Esposito also scored and assisted in Inter's 4-1 win over Monza to kick off its 2026-2027 Serie A campaign, and he was overcome with emotion after signing his new deal.

"It is certainly something very emotional," Esposito said. "When I got into the car to come here, I had butterflies in my stomach.

"I feel that it is an important milestone for my life and my career, although it is absolutely not a finishing point. It is a starting point from which to continue working like this.

"It is also recognition for the work done up to now, so I need to continue working like this."

Esposito helped Inter win the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles last season, while he also scored in its Champions League knockout round play-off tie against Bodo/Glimt.

While he has his eyes on more trophies and goals, those are not the Italy international's main objectives.

"Both in terms of trophies and statistics, the important thing is to try not to stop, never be satisfied and always grow," he said.

"I don’t like giving a precise number of goals or statistics, but the objective is always to improve myself, as a player and also as a person."
