Salah makes debut in Trabzonspor draw
Mohamed Salah made his debut off the bench for Trabzonspor on Sunday (AEST), but could not help his new side pick up three points against Kasimpasa in the Super Lig as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The former Liverpool winger joined the action just before the hour mark after Adrian Benedyczak's penalty cancelled out Noah Saviolo's opener at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadyumu.
It was a quiet first half in the opening league game of the season for both sides, but Trabzonspor managed to take the lead on the stroke of half-time as Saviolo volleyed in at the near post from Metehan Mimaroglu's deep cross.
However, Kasimpasa equalised just 10 minutes into the second half after Guven Yalcin was brought down by Wagner Pina in the box, and Benedyczak buried his penalty into the bottom-left corner against Andre Onana.
Salah's introduction came in the 58th minute, and he almost provided an assist shortly after the hour mark, but his free-kick was headed wide of the target by Paul Onuachu.
Mustafa Eskihellac saw an attempt blocked in stoppage-time for Trabzonspor before Claudio Winck failed to test Onana with a strike from distance as the points were shared.
