Salah eyeing silverware after Trabzonspor move
Mohamed Salah has signed a two-year deal with Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool, but he wants to keep on winning trophies in Turkiye.
Salah mutually agreed to terminate his Liverpool contract at the end of the 2025-2026 season after nine years at Anfield.
He was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League as well as Besiktas before signing his two-year deal with Trabzonspor.
Salah is a proven winner, having clinched two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his time on Merseyside.
Trabzonspor has not won the Turkish Super Lig title since 2021-2022, but did lift the Turkish Cup last term, beating Konyaspor in the final.
Salah was officially unveiled to fans at Papara Park after signing his new contract, and he vowed to win silverware.
"The last couple of days, it's an experience I have never had in my life," Salah said.
"I just want to thank every one of you for being here. You showed me so much love, and I never expected that reception. I'm here to win."
Trabzonspor is a seven-time league winner, and finished third last year, eight points behind champion Galatasaray.
It begins its new campaign against Kasimpasa on 16 August (AEST).
