Pisa toppled as Juventus leans back into winning
Juventus ended a run of four Serie A matches without a win as it moved closer to the top four with a comfortable 4-0 win over lowly Pisa at Allianz Stadium.
After being recently eliminated from both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League, Juventus put its poor stretch behind it in convincing fashion.
However, it did make a slow start and was fortunate not to go behind, as goalkeeper Mattia Perin was forced to claw away a header from Rafiu Durosinmi early on.
The home side eventually found its groove, but failed to find the opener in the first half as Khephren Thuram and Jonathan David both missed the target.
But Juve found the breakthrough in the 54th minute as Kenan Yildiz clipped a cross for Andrea Cambiaso at the back post, and he made no mistake with a header.
The second goal arrived 11 minutes later, with Manuel Locatelli striking the post with an effort at goal, with the rebound dropping kindly for Thuram to put into the net.
Yildiz's impressive showing was rewarded with a goal 15 minutes from time when he collected Francisco Conceicao's pass and skipped away from the challenge of Francesco Coppola, before picking out the top corner with a brilliant finish.
There was still time for another in stoppage-time as Locatelli found substitute Jeremie Boga, who rounded goalkeeper Nicolas and slotted home to seal a huge triumph.
