Ederson claims move to United 'almost done'
Brazlian midfielder Ederson has confirmed his move from Atalanta to Manchester United is close.
Ederson, who replaced Bruno Guimaraes from the bench in Brazil's 3-0 win over Haiti in their group match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, said he was keen to address his future at club level after the match.
Atalanta has reportedly accepted a €40.5 million ($66.2 million) fee plus more in potential bonuses for Ederson to join Michael Carrick's side ahead of the 2026-2027 campaign.
It is understood the Brazilian has agreed a four-year contract with an option for a further extension, as the Red Devils look to improve their midfield after Casemiro's departure.
Ederson's switch to Old Trafford looked set to go through in early June, but he received a late call-up to Brazil's squad for the FIFA World Cup after Flamengo's Wesley suffered an injury.
"I have to wait. Now I have to enjoy this moment, then we will see," Ederson said.
"Certainly, everything is almost done, but now I have to enjoy this moment. This is a wonderful experience, and you have to enjoy it the most."
Ederson has enjoyed four impressive years at Atalanta, having helped Gian Piero Gasperini's side lift the UEFA Europa League trophy in 2023-2024, beating Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
He has made 180 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta, scoring 16 goals as well as providing five assists, while his 187 tackles rank as the fifth-highest among Serie A players since he joined the club four years ago.
