Chelsea, Spurs headline Carabao Cup second round draw

Chelsea will host Jack Wilshere's Luton Town in the Carabao Cup second round, while Tottenham Hotspur takes on Charlton in a London derby, after the draw was completed on Tuesday morning.

Ex-Arsenal star Wilshere will take his League One side to Stamford Bridge, as the 11 Premier League sides not involved in European competition this season joined the winners of the first-round.

Among the other ties are League One AFC Wimbledon visiting Alvaro Arbeloa's Fulham at Craven Cottage, while Brentford faces a potentially tricky tie against Birmingham at St Andrew's.

Plymouth faces promotedPremier League club Coventry at home, while West Ham is at Southampton in an all-Championship match-up.

In the north draw, Newcastle will host Championship club West Brom, while Leeds meets Premier League rival Nottingham Forest.

David Moyes's Everton visits second tier club Preston North End - Ironically based at Everton's former home, Goodison Park - as the Toffees manager reunites with the club where he began his managerial career.

The Europe competition-based Premier League clubs will join in the third round, which will be split over the weeks commencing 7 September and 14 September.

The teams competing in the Champions League will start in the later week.
