Last-gasp Bremen ruins Dortmund's perfect start
Niclas Fullkrug's stoppage-time goal put an end to Borussia Dortmund's 100 per cent Bundesliga start as he salvaged a 2-2 draw for Werder Bremen.
Daniel Svensson and Nico Schlotterbeck scored two quick-fire goals to put Dortmund in control, but Ludovit Reis and Fullkrug struck even later to earn a point for the visitors.
Both sides made a slow start to the game, with Reis having the first clear-cut chance of the first half when he drilled narrowly wide just after the half-hour mark.
Marcel Sabitzer then flashed a free-kick past the post before Maximilian Beier forced a smart sprawling stop out of Karl Hein from a tight angle on the right of the box.
Ethan Nwaneri also called Hein into action just after the break, while Fullkrug volleyed a bouncing clearance from the goalkeeper against Gregor Kobel's outstretched leg.
Dortmund continued to up the pressure, though, and Serhou Guirassy saw a glancing header cleared off the line before Nwaneri's overhead kick thundered in off the near post, but it was disallowed for a foul in the build-up.
The hosts eventually got the breakthrough in the 80th minute; a lightning-quick counter-attack saw Guirassy skip down the right before pulling it back into the box and Fabio Silva helped it onto Svensson, who rifled it into the roof of the net first time.
Five minutes later, Dortmund had doubled their lead, with Schlotterbeck nodding a towering header past Hein, who claimed he was being impeded, but the goal survived a check by the video assistant referee (VAR).
However, Dortmund's deficit was halved just three minutes later after Oskar Wojcik intercepted a loose pass and Reis weaved into the box before firing past Kobel.
In the second minute of stoppage-time, Fullkrug got the decisive goal. He timed his run perfectly on a Marco Grull free-kick and flicked his header over Kobel to settle the game.
Dortmund is now three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table ahead of the rest of the weekend's action, opening the door for Bayern Munich to close the gap on Sunday when it plays Augsburg.
