Sloane Stephens ended her wait for a first WTA Tour title by crushing Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the Citi Open final.
The American was untroubled by Pavlyuchenkova, cruising to a 6-1 6-2 victory in the decider in Washington on Sunday.
Stephens enjoyed a stunning week in the United States capital, winning the tournament without dropping a set.
The talented 22-year-old, who was ranked 11th in the world in 2013, endured a tricky start to the year.
Stephens has slipped to 35th in the rankings, but the overdue title success could lead to a big run to finish the year.
Pavlyuchenkova remains without a WTA title since last year, as her record slipped to 7-4 in finals.
After a tough hold in the opening game, Stephens broke for 2-0 and never looked back, breaking again in the sixth game.
The pair traded breaks to start the second but Stephens won four straight games from 2-2 to secure the title.
