Injured Carvajal, Rodri Visit Spain National Team
Injured players Dani Carvajal, Rodrigo Hernández 'Rodri', and Robin Le Normand visited the Spanish internationals on Thursday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, offering encouragement to Luis de la Fuente's squad ahead of the two matches against Denmark and Serbia in the Nations League.
In these matches, the "La Roja" will be without Carvajal, Rodri, and Le Normand—three key players from the Spanish team that won the Euro 2024 championship in Germany last summer.
Carvajal, who arrived at the Ciudad del Fútbol on crutches, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, as well as a torn lateral collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteal tendon in his right leg during a league match between Real Madrid and Villarreal last Saturday.
Rodrigo Hernández, the Manchester United midfielder, will also be sidelined for several months. He also arrived on crutches after suffering a knee ligament injury, similar to Carvajal's.
Meanwhile, center-back Robin Le Normand was unable to make the squad for the matches against Denmark and Serbia after sustaining a craniocephalic trauma with a subdural hematoma in the match between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid on September 29.
The Spanish national team, the reigning Nations League champions, will face Denmark next Saturday, October 12, in Murcia, and three days later, on Tuesday, October 15, against Serbia in Córdoba.
