Does Harry Kane See England Winning Euro 2024?
Harry Kane, England's star striker, is gearing up for the Euro 2024 Semifinal against the Netherlands. With the team on the verge of potentially reaching their second consecutive final after 2021, he described the prospect as "incredible" during a pre-match interview in Dortmund. He downplayed the pressure, acknowledged the high expectations, and warned of the match's difficulty.
"Previous experiences help. We have many players who have been in big international matches and also big club matches. You try to use all that experience to prepare as best as possible and manage the nerves and excitement. We have a goal we want to reach and believe is achievable," Kane said from the match venue.
"Step by step, we've gotten closer to our goal. We're at a great moment to reach two consecutive Euro finals. It will be an incredible achievement. We have the opportunity," continued the forward, who has scored 65 goals in 95 matches for the England national team, including one in Germany 2024 amidst criticism of England's playing style.
"We haven't talked about the pressure. The more experienced players know what it's like to play for our national team in major tournaments. As we've improved in tournaments, expectations have increased. And this one has been no different," he noted.
"People will use pressure in different ways; some as motivation to improve their game and level, while others will focus on what they have to do without thinking about it. We know what we want to achieve, and we're close to getting there. We have a very important match. We need to be prepared. And we have prepared for it. Nothing changes," he concluded.
