Luis Enrique Gets Emotional With the Fans in Paris Saint-Germain’s Victory Against as Monaco
The PSG coach was impressed by the attitude of the Parisian fans despite the tough start to the match
Victory for PSG in a tough match
Luis Enrique was amazed by the Paris Saint-Germain fans after the hard-fought 3-2 victory against Monaco in the UEFA Champions League playoffs. The match started off complicated for the Parisian team, but Enrique's squad managed to come back and secure the final victory.
Luis Enrique and the fans
"I would like to highlight that I have never seen a fanbase, ever, ever, neither as a coach nor as a player, like that of Paris Saint-Germain. We were losing 2-0, and only our fans were singing. They give us a lot of credit and we dedicate the victory to them because without them it would have been impossible," admitted the Paris Saint-Germain coach.
The coach also referred to his team as "a winning team." Luis Enrique also spoke about the pressure the team is under at this stage of the competition, saying, "When things don't go well, we are not perfect, we are not machines," asserting the coach who took the victory in this first-leg match.
The second-leg in Paris
The next match for the Parisian team under the Spanish coach will be at the home of Paris Saint-Germain, that is, at the Parc des Princes, where they will seek to maintain this narrow victory and avoid any surprises. This time they will play at home and will have that advantage, as well as the fact that they will enter the field having won the last match, knowing that Monaco will want to make a comeback. This match between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco will be played on February 25 and will determine which team advances to the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
