Osimhen Undergoes Surgery After Injury Blow
Victor Osimhen underwent surgery after suffering a forearm fracture and is expected to miss several weeks.
Galatasaray has been dealt a significant setback following the injury of Victor Osimhen, who underwent surgery after suffering a fracture in his right forearm during a recent match at Anfield.
The Nigerian striker was one of the players affected in the European clash, which also saw his teammate Noa Lang sustain a serious thumb injury in a shocking incident involving an advertising board. The events made for a difficult night for the Turkish side in the Champions League.
On Monday, the club confirmed that Osimhen successfully underwent surgery at the Maslak Acıbadem Hospital. The procedure was carried out by the club’s head doctor, Yener İnce, who oversaw the operation. While no official recovery timeline has been announced, it is expected that the striker will be sidelined for several weeks.
Osimhen’s absence represents a major challenge for Galatasaray, as he has been one of the team’s standout performers this season. With 19 goals to his name, he has established himself as the main attacking force and a key figure in the squad.
Despite this setback, Galatasaray will aim to maintain its strong position in the domestic league, where it currently sits at the top of the table with 64 points, four ahead of its closest rival, Fenerbahce, with a game in hand. The team now faces the challenge of sustaining its performance without its star striker as it awaits his return for the crucial stages of the season.
