Fenerbahçe Prepares a Major Offer for Ayase Ueda
Fenerbahçe continues its search for reinforcements to strengthen its attack and has now reportedly set its sights on Ayase Ueda, the Japanese striker who has established himself as one of Feyenoord's main attacking options.
According to reports from TRT and Feyenoord Transfermarkt, the Istanbul club is prepared to offer more than €20 million in an attempt to convince the Dutch side to part ways with the forward.
There is currently no agreement between the clubs, and the exact amount Feyenoord would demand to approve his departure has not been revealed. However, reports indicate that Ueda would be open to taking the next step in his career.
Fenerbahçe Wants to Give Ueda a Major Role
One of the main arguments Fenerbahçe could use to convince the Japanese international is the prominent role he would have in the club's project.
Ueda remains under contract with Feyenoord until the summer of 2028, putting the Rotterdam club in a strong negotiating position with no immediate need to sell him.
The striker arrived in the Netherlands from Cercle Brugge in 2023. During the early stages of his time at the club, he had to compete for playing time with Santiago Giménez, who was the first-choice center forward.
Over time, the situation changed and Ueda eventually earned a much bigger role, becoming Feyenoord's regular starting striker last season.
A potential move to Turkey would represent another major challenge for a player who has steadily developed during his time in European football and could now become one of Fenerbahçe's key additions as the club looks to strengthen its attack.
Lukaku Interest Would Not Affect the Deal
The situation becomes even more interesting because Ayase Ueda is reportedly not the only striker on the Turkish club's radar.
According to the same reports, Fenerbahçe is also working on a potential move for Romelu Lukaku. However, the two operations are considered separate, meaning the possible arrival of the Belgian striker would not necessarily end the club's pursuit of the Japanese forward.
Ueda is reportedly aware of the club's interest in Lukaku, but that has not changed his willingness to consider a move to Istanbul.
The decision now rests largely with Feyenoord. With Ueda under contract until 2028 and having finally established himself as a regular starter, the Dutch club must decide whether an offer exceeding €20 million would be enough to let one of its increasingly important attacking players leave.
