Fenerbahçe Earn First Win Without Mourinho
In Matchday 4 of the Trendyol Super Lig, Fenerbahçe claimed an important 3-1 away win against Gençlerbirliği, marking their first game since the departure of José Mourinho.
The yellow-navy side struck early through Dorgeles Nene (14’), who capitalized on a defensive rebound. Soon after, Youssef En-Nesyri doubled the lead with two quick goals in the 35th and 40th minutes, giving Fenerbahçe a commanding cushion before halftime.
The hosts, coached by Hüseyin Eroğlu, struggled to respond until the second half. Greek defender Dimitrios Goutas pulled one back in the 64th minute, but the capital-based side failed to mount a full comeback and remain without a single point this season.
With this result, Zeki Murat Göle’s Fenerbahçe climb to 7 points, still with a game in hand. Next week, they face Trabzonspor at home in a highly anticipated derby. Meanwhile, Gençlerbirliği will travel to face Çaykur Rizespor in search of their first points of the campaign.
