The match had barely begun when Konyaspor found the opening goal. In the first minute, a move built from the back exposed huge spaces in the visitors’ defense. Diogo Gonçalves received the ball and set up Rajmond Toth, who finished perfectly inside the post to make it 1-0.

Konyaspor earned its first victory of the season in the Süper Lig after defeating Trabzonspor 1-0 in a match where the home side capitalized on a spectacular start before holding off the visitors’ second-half response.
The hosts nearly doubled their advantage moments later, but Diogo Gonçalves’ shot crashed against the post.
Konyaspor Punishes Trabzonspor’s Defensive Gaps
Trabzonspor took far too long to settle into the match. Its first significant opportunity came in the 13th minute, when Wagner Pina tried his luck from distance, but his effort went wide.
Konyaspor, meanwhile, continued to look dangerous. Melih İbrahimoğlu came extremely close to scoring a spectacular goal in the 22nd minute with a curling long-range strike that narrowly missed André Onana’s post.
The goalkeeper was called into action again five minutes later, producing a double save to prevent a second goal. In the 37th minute, Onana came to the rescue once again, rushing off his line to deny Toth, who had broken free on another counterattack.
Before halftime, Mohamed Salah had an opportunity after receiving a cutback from Wagner Pina, but his effort went wide, bringing an end to a disappointing first half for the Pharaoh and Trabzonspor as a whole.

Trabzonspor Responds but Cannot Find the Equalizer
The visitors increased the tempo after the break.
In the 54th minute, Fabinho struck the crossbar following a corner, and Aral Şimşir sent the rebound over the goal with a volley.
One minute later, Sindi López Cabral tried to recreate one of the spectacular long-range goals he scored during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but his effort hit the side netting.
Ernest Muçi also tried his luck in the 60th minute with a header that went straight into the hands of Bahadır Han Güngördü.
Trabzonspor was now controlling possession, but clear opportunities remained few and far between. Konyaspor dropped deeper and began protecting a lead that could deliver its first three points of the campaign.
The visitors’ best opportunity to equalize arrived in the 80th minute. Fabinho unleashed a powerful long-range effort, but Güngördü responded with an excellent save to preserve the clean sheet.
Konyaspor even had one final opportunity to put the game away in the 87th minute, when Jean-Luc Dompé delivered a spectacular cross that Toth came agonizingly close to converting.
There was no time for anything else.
Konyaspor held on to secure its first victory of the season in the Süper Lig, while Trabzonspor dropped valuable points after an inconsistent performance marked by a dreadful first half and a response that ultimately came too late.
