FENERBAHÇE CAN’T FIND THE BACK OF THE NET

İsmail Kartal’s side arrived at Gaziantep Stadium needing a reaction after an inconsistent start to the season. However, Fenerbahçe once again fell short in front of goal.

One of the best opportunities fell to Mattéo Guendouzi, who received a pass from Kerem Aktürkoğlu inside the box and tried to find the near post, only for his effort to miss the target.

Gaziantep FK also created a dangerous opportunity through Deian Sorescu, whose shot was deflected by Archie Brown.

The score remained 0-0 throughout the 90 minutes, leaving Fenerbahçe with a single point that feels insufficient given their urgent need for a victory.

A DRAW THAT INCREASES THE PRESSURE

The goalless draw is even more concerning given the circumstances. Fenerbahçe entered the match with just six points from their previous four games, while Gaziantep had seven points.

The Istanbul club is also going through a difficult period. Following a draw against Roma in the Champions League, İsmail Kartal announced his resignation, although club president Aziz Yıldırım later confirmed that he would remain in charge.

The historical record made the result even more surprising: Fenerbahçe had won their previous 12 meetings against Gaziantep, including nine in the Süper Lig, and had recorded seven consecutive away victories against this opponent.
