The 10 Best Signings of the 2026–27 Primeira Liga Season
Sporting CP, Benfica and FC Porto have been active in the market, bringing several high-profile players to Portugal ahead of the new campaign.
The 2026 summer transfer window has brought another wave of talent to Portugal. While the market remains open, several newcomers have already emerged as potentially decisive additions. From established internationals to young prospects, these are ten of the most interesting Primeira Liga signings so far.
1. Rodrigo Zalazar — Sporting CP
After an outstanding spell with SC Braga, Rodrigo Zalazar moved to Sporting CP as one of the biggest transfers within Portugal. The Uruguayan has already delivered: he scored and provided an assist in the 2-2 league opener against Estrela da Amadora.
2. Jhon Durán — Benfica
Perhaps the most intriguing arrival. Jhon Durán joined Benfica on loan from Al-Nassr, with a €30 million purchase option. The Colombian striker immediately made an impression by scoring on his first official appearance, a 6-1 Europa League qualifying win over Hearts.
3. Issa Doumbia — Sporting CP
At 22, Issa Doumbia arrives after helping Venezia earn promotion from Serie B. The midfielder signed until 2031 and offers physicality, ball carrying and significant development potential.
4. Jakub Kiwior — FC Porto
Already an important part of FC Porto during their title-winning 2025/26 campaign, Jakub Kiwior initially arrived on loan from Arsenal in September 2025. His move was made permanent ahead of the 2026/27 season, allowing Francesco Farioli to retain an experienced Polish international who already knows the team, the league and the demands of the club.
5. Sergi Altimira — Sporting CP
Signed from Real Betis, Sergi Altimira brings LaLiga experience to Sporting CP’s midfield. The 24-year-old signed until 2031 after making 40 appearances for the Spanish club last season.
6. Jakub Kamiński — Benfica
Benfica added another Polish international in Jakub Kamiński. The winger arrived from FC Köln after recording seven goals and three assists in 36 appearances during 2025/26.
7. Ibrahima Ba — Sporting CP
After helping Famalicão finish fifth last season, 21-year-old centre-back Ibrahima Ba earned a move to Sporting CP, signing through 2031.
8. André Silva — FC Porto
The return of André Silva already looks valuable. The Portuguese striker scored a penalty in FC Porto’s 2-0 opening-day victory over FC Alverca and was named the match MVP.
9. Silas Andersen — Sporting CP
Danish midfielder Silas Andersen arrived from BK Häcken as another long-term investment. His versatility gives Sporting CP additional options in central midfield.
10. Jesse Derry — Sporting CP
On loan from Chelsea, young English winger Jesse Derry represents a high-upside move. He already scored against AS Monaco during preseason.
Who will make the biggest impact?
