Will Bruno Fernandes Miss the Rest of the Season with Manchester United?

  • Manchester United have endured a difficult season, and concerns are now growing over the fitness of their captain, Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United are not going through their best run of form. They are still reeling from the defeat to Aston Villa, and now face another setback: the absence of their captain.

How Serious Is Bruno Fernandes’ Injury?

Fernandes collided with Amadou Onana during Premier League Matchday 17 against Aston Villa. Although he attempted to continue, he lasted only a few minutes before being forced off while clearly in pain.

Asked about the midfielder’s condition, Rúben Amorim, Manchester United’s head coach, admitted his concern, suggesting it could be a muscle injury.

“I think it’s a muscle injury, but I still don’t know how long he’ll be out. I believe he will miss a few matches, but for now that’s all I can say.
I don’t like to talk too much about these things because we can’t control them. He’s a player who is usually fit, and when he isn’t, he tends to recover well,”
the coach explained.

Where Does Manchester United Stand in the Premier League?

Manchester United lost 2–1 to Aston Villa and currently sit seventh in the Premier League with 26 points, a position that leaves them outside the European qualification spots.

Before the end of the year, the Red Devils still have fixtures against Newcastle on December 26, followed by a clash with Wolves on December 30.
