Goodbye Guardiola? Xabi Alonso Rumored to Take Charge of Manchester City
Is Pep Leaving? Xabi Alonso Among Candidates to Manage Manchester City
At Manchester City, doubts are emerging about Pep Guardiola’s future, despite the coach repeatedly stating that he has a valid contract. Amid this uncertainty, the media has started speculating about possible replacements, and one of the most talked-about names is Xabi Alonso.
Following his abrupt departure from Real Madrid, the former Spanish midfielder could get the chance to take charge of another top European club looking to regain its form.

According to The Telegraph, Xabi Alonso would be part of a three-candidate shortlist to succeed Guardiola, at a time when the club believes the historic coach could leave after 10 years in charge.
Sources close to City have described these rumors as “pure speculation,” although recent reports suggest that an emergency plan is already being prepared in case Guardiola decides not to continue.
Also on the list of potential candidates are Enzo Maresca and Cesc Fàbregas, the current coach of Como, as possible successors to take the helm at the English club.
