Former Chelsea Player Lamisha Musonda Shares Heartbreaking Health Update
A former Chelsea prospect has shared a deeply personal message that has shaken the football world and sparked an outpouring of support.
A message that stunned the football world
Lamisha Musonda, a former Chelsea player who retired from professional football in 2020, sent shockwaves through the sport after publishing a deeply emotional statement on social media.
Without revealing the exact nature of his condition, Musonda confirmed he is suffering from a serious illness with no cure. In his message, he acknowledged that, despite continuing to fight, doctors have told him he may have “only a few days left.”
“Life is hard, but it is beautiful”
In one of the most powerful passages of his statement, Musonda reflected on life, gratitude, and the people who have stood by him during his darkest moments.
“Realizing that I may only have a few days left also makes me realize how many people I’ve had by my side, and I will always cherish those memories,” he wrote. “Life is hard, but it is beautiful. No one can truly understand the pain one feels. The last two years have been especially difficult and challenging for me.”
His words quickly resonated across the football community, with messages of support pouring in from fans, former teammates, and clubs.
A career cut short
Musonda’s playing career included spells in Spain, where he featured for Llagostera and Palamós, after also playing for Anderlecht, the club from which he moved to Chelsea.
He ultimately stepped away from football in 2020. His brother, Charly Musonda, also came through Chelsea’s system and later played in LaLiga with Real Betis and Levante.
A plea for strength and prayers
In another part of his statement, Musonda explained his absence from social media and asked for support as he faces the most difficult battle of his life.
“This is why I’ve been absent from social media,” he said. “I must face reality: my health is critical, and I am now fighting to survive. Your help and prayers mean a lot. My family and I are fighting, and I will not give up until my final breath.”
He also expressed sadness at the possibility of not being able to personally thank everyone who has played a role in his life.
