Haaland Adds Four New Honors to His Collection

At 26 years old, Erling Haaland already has a collection of records that few footballers can match, and now four of his most notable achievements have been officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The Norwegian striker received certificates for records he achieved with both Manchester City and the Norway national team.

The recognition comes just as the forward prepares for a new season with the English club, after once again stepping into the spotlight during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Guinness World Records, the four recognized achievements include his record-breaking pace to reach 100 goals in the Premier League, his spectacular first season in England, his scoring record in the UEFA Nations League, and his historic performance in a single Champions League match.

100 Premier League Goals at Record Speed

The first recognition centers around a number that has become synonymous with Haaland: 100 Premier League goals.

The Norwegian reached the milestone on December 2, 2025, when he converted a penalty against Fulham. He did so after just 111 appearances, becoming the player to reach 100 goals in the fewest matches in Premier League history.

The achievement becomes even more impressive considering that Haaland made his Manchester City debut during the 2022/23 season. In just over three years since arriving in English football, he went from being one of Europe's most promising attacking talents to becoming one of the league's most dominant statistical forces.

A First Season That Raised the Scoring Bar

During his first campaign with Manchester City, Haaland scored 36 goals in 38 Premier League appearances, a tally that earned him another record recognized by Guinness World Records.

The Norwegian surpassed Mohamed Salah's 32 goals from the 2017/18 season and also moved past the 34-goal totals recorded by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer during the 1993/94 and 1994/95 campaigns, respectively.

What makes the achievement even more striking is that the seasons in which Cole and Shearer scored 34 goals consisted of 42 league matches, while Haaland reached 36 goals in a competition featuring just 38 games.

From Norway to an Unforgettable Champions League Night

The other two recognitions show that Haaland's scoring ability is not limited to English club football. With Norway, the striker became the all-time leading scorer in the UEFA Nations League, with 19 goals between September 2020 and November 2024.

But perhaps the most eye-catching record came in the Champions League. On March 14, 2023, Haaland scored five goals against RB Leipzig, producing one of the most remarkable individual performances in the history of the European competition.

With those five goals, the Norwegian matched a record previously held by Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano, who had also scored five times in a single Champions League match.

Haaland has also become a hugely popular figure off the pitch. Guinness World Records highlighted that he gained around 24 million Instagram followers during the World Cup, fueled by his personality, memorable interviews, and performances on the field.
