Mohamed Salah Uncertain About Future with Liverpool
Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool footballer, has left his future uncertain for next year when his contract with the Anfield club ends.
Salah, 32, extended his contract by three years in 2022, and while waiting for a possible renewal, the Egyptian emphasized enjoying this year without worrying about the future.
"Before the season started, I was like, 'I have one year left, let's enjoy it and not think about the contract,'" the forward told Sky Sports in the days leading up to Sunday’s match against Manchester United.
"I don’t want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy my final year of the contract, and we’ll see what happens. The most important thing is to take it day by day and be grateful to be here."
Liverpool already rejected a $197 million offer for Salah from Al-Ittihad last year, and the Egyptian has been seen as a crown jewel in Saudi Arabia’s bid to become a major player in world football.
However, Salah declined the move to Saudi Arabia and is currently Liverpool’s highest-paid player, earning around £350,000 per week.
The Egyptian has started the new season in great form, now with Arne Slot replacing Jürgen Klopp as manager, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the first two matches against Ipswich Town and Brentford.
Liverpool sought competition for Salah in this summer’s transfer market and signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus for around 16 million, who also plays on the right wing like Sala
