Mikel Arteta Challenges Arsenal To End 11-year Hoodoo At Anfield
The Gunners have not won at Anfield in the Premier League since September 2012 when boss Mikel Arteta was in midfield for the north London outfit.
Mikel Arteta is challenging Arsenal to break an 11-year winless streak at Anfield as they aim to claim the top spot in the Premier League on Christmas Day. The Gunners haven't secured a victory at Liverpool's home ground since September 2012, and Arteta, reflecting on his four years as Arsenal manager, emphasized their previous successes at venues like Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge. He underlined the upcoming Anfield clash as the next challenge, emphasizing the need to dominate such fixtures to be at the top.
Arteta expressed confidence in Arsenal's ability to overcome historical challenges, stating, "We have done it at Old Trafford, we have done it at Stamford Bridge and many other places where we haven’t done it for years. This is the next challenge. Go there and win. If you want to be at the top, you have to go to those places and be dominant. That’s what we’re going to try to do."
In the previous meeting at Anfield last year, Arsenal took a 2-0 lead but had to settle for a draw. The manager is determined to secure a win this time and believes it's crucial for Arsenal to assert dominance in challenging venues to compete at the highest level.
