Manchester United and Rúben Amorim announce their first signing
Manchester United have announced their first signing of the summer: Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, who’s joining from Wolverhampton on a five-year deal with the Old Trafford club.
A striker with European experience
At 26 years old, Cunha has 13 caps for Brazil and brings plenty of experience from European football. He’s played for Sion (Switzerland), RB Leipzig and Hertha Berlin (Germany), Atlético Madrid (Spain), and Wolves, where he arrived back in January 2023.
The Brazilian forward has scored 72 goals across his European career and is expected to bring energy, movement, and goals to the new project led by Portuguese manager Rúben Amorim at the helm of the Red Devils.
Medical still pending
The deal is still subject to final paperwork and a medical, which will take place once Cunha returns from international duty with Brazil, as they play World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.
