Haaland's Off the Pitch for Manchester City Until 2024 Due to Injury
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, will be out until January due to a bone stress injury he picked up in his foot a few weeks back.
The Norwegian striker has missed the last six City games, including the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia and this Wednesday's match against Everton, all because of this injury. This setback will likely cost Haaland the title of top scorer for the year, as Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed him last weekend. Without his return, the Portuguese star will clinch the top scorer spot for 2023.
Pep Guardiola mentioned the big question is when Haaland's pain will fade and hopes he'll be back by January.
"It's stress on the bone, he's okay, but he's in pain. He's not a small, slender guy like Foden; he's bulkier, which makes it tougher. He'll be fine, and once he's back, he'll play," added the Spanish coach.
Consequently, Haaland will miss the upcoming 'Cityzens' matches against Sheffield United and likely the first FA Cup clash of the year versus Huddersfield Town. The uncertainty lies in whether he'll make it in time to face Newcastle United on January 13, a crucial game for City aiming to solidify their place in the top 4 and distance themselves from the mid-table teams chasing them down.
