Messi Still Winless at New Home Stadium
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF are still searching for their first home win after a draw with New York Red Bulls.
Inter Miami CF’s new stadium continues to be a challenging venue for Lionel Messi and his teammates. The team drew 2-2 against New York Red Bulls, marking their second consecutive home draw at the Nu Stadium.
The visitors struck first in the 15th minute, with Jorge Ruvalcaba finishing off a brilliant counterattack orchestrated by Julian Hall, who carved through the Miami defense before delivering the assist.
Inter Miami responded just before halftime, as Mateo Silvetti found the net from a precise cross by Rodrigo De Paul, leveling the score.
In the second half, Miami took the lead thanks to Germán Berterame, who capitalized on a loose ball following a move initiated by Messi.
However, the Red Bulls fought back. Adri Mehmeti redeemed himself by scoring the equalizer in the 77th minute after a set-piece situation created once again by Hall.
Despite the lack of wins at their new stadium, Inter Miami remain in second place in the Eastern Conference. They will have another chance to secure their first home victory when they face Colorado Rapids next weekend.
