The 2026 Leagues Cup is set to deliver another thrilling edition as several world-class players make their tournament debut after joining Major League Soccer clubs.
Leading the list of new arrivals are Thomas Müller, Robert Lewandowski, Antoine Griezmann, and Casemiro, adding even more star power to a league already featuring Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
Müller will spearhead the Vancouver Whitecaps, who will face Atlante, FC Juárez, and Tigres UANL during the group stage. Lewandowski's Chicago Fire will take on Necaxa, Santos Laguna, and Cruz Azul, while Griezmann's Orlando City is set for clashes against Monterrey, León, and Atlético de San Luis.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has joined Inter Miami, teaming up with Messi as the club looks to make another deep run in the competition against Atlético de San Luis, Monterrey, and León.
Liga MX clubs enter the tournament eager to end MLS's recent dominance. Inter Miami, Columbus Crew, and Seattle Sounders have won the last three editions, while León remains the most recent Mexican champion after lifting the trophy in 2021. With elite talent spread across MLS rosters, the battle for regional supremacy promises to be fiercer than ever.
