Inside Lionel Messi's Stunning New Multimillion-Dollar Yacht

  • Lionel Messi is adding a spectacular luxury catamaran worth an estimated $10 million to his collection. Take a closer look at its impressive features and what the Argentine superstar has planned for it.

Lionel Messi Takes Luxury to Another Level With His New Yacht

Lionel Messi is making another multimillion-dollar investment, and this one has nothing to do with soccer. The Argentine superstar has commissioned a Sunreef ULTIMA 88, a stunning luxury catamaran boasting 2,000 horsepower, five cabins and plenty of space to enjoy life on the water with his family.

The vessel is currently under construction at Sunreef Yachts' shipyard in the United Arab Emirates. While the company has not disclosed the final purchase price, similar models are estimated to cost between $9 million and $10.5 million.

But Messi's latest acquisition is more than just a personal getaway. The Inter Miami captain plans to add the yacht to MIM Ocean, his luxury charter business based in Spain's Balearic Islands.

What's Inside Lionel Messi's New Luxury Yacht?

The Sunreef ULTIMA 88 measures 26.8 meters (88 feet) and is powered by two 1,000-horsepower engines. Its custom-designed interior will feature a spacious master suite spanning the yacht's full width, along with four additional guest cabins.

One of its biggest highlights is the Ocean Lounge, a waterfront relaxation area featuring fold-out side terraces, a hydraulic swimming platform and direct access to the sea. The yacht will also have a dedicated jet ski garage, an expansive upper deck and several outdoor entertaining spaces.

The Business Behind Lionel Messi's Multimillion-Dollar Purchase

Messi's new yacht will become part of MIM Ocean, a luxury charter venture created through a partnership between his MIM Hotels brand and yacht specialist Med Cat Yachts.

The business currently operates three Bali 5.4 catamarans, primarily serving the Balearic Islands during the European summer before shifting some operations to the Caribbean and the Bahamas between December and April. The addition of the Sunreef ULTIMA 88 will expand its luxury offerings, although delivery dates and charter rates have yet to be announced.

Why Lionel Messi Chose Sunreef Yachts

The Argentina World Cup winner explained that his family's love of the ocean played a major role in his decision to work with Sunreef.

"It's a real pleasure to join the Sunreef family. My family and I have always enjoyed spending time at sea whenever we get the chance," Messi said in a statement released by the shipbuilder.

Messi joins an impressive roster of sports stars associated with Sunreef, including Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Robert Lewandowski, Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg. For now, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner will have to wait until construction is complete before taking his new yacht out on the water.
