St. Louis City SC boss Yoann Damet insists a 1-1 draw with high-flying New York City FC last time out will not be enough flip their season, after a poor start in the MLS.

Brendan McSorley netted a 95th-minute equaliser at Citi Field to cancel out Hannes Wolf's goal early in the second half, as St. Louis extended their unbeaten run to two matches.

Damet's side have won just one of their opening six games in 2026, though, on March 21 against the New England Revolution, leaving them 13th in the Western Conference.

The St. Louis boss did, however, feel as though the draw against NYCFC could be a solid foundation to build on, ahead of their trip to FC Dallas this Saturday.

"I think this is a very good moment to build on in terms of getting a point on the road, especially in the fashion that we did against a tough side," Damet said.

"I am really pleased for the guys again. The commitment of the group, the mindset to keep pushing, and to go on and earn a point on the road was massive."

But Damet did hold back a little bit, suggesting that this was not a result that would turn the tide during a long MLS season for the Western Conference strugglers.

"I don't think it's going to flip the season," Damet conceded. "I think it is just part of the process that we as a group are currently going through."

Dallas, meanwhile, netted four goals in back-to-back MLS matches after they won 4-0 against D.C. United in their most recent league game, with four different players on target.

Logan Farrington and Patrickson Delgado's goals were followed up by strikes from Osaze Urhoghide and Petar Musa, sealing a convincing victory for Eric Quill's men.

But Quill was quick to laud Santiago Moreno's contribution from the bench, with the Colombian completing one dribble and having three shots, two of which were on target.

"He's just different with his elusiveness in the game," Quill observed. "He has clean feet in tight spaces, the ability to make the first guy miss. That's an amazing trait to have.

"He's got the quality to find the right pass, the right shot for himself, and he's got a change of speed that's of a high, high level.

"Each practice, as he gets to know the style of play and his team-mates more, his quality is becoming more and more obvious."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

FC Dallas – Petar Musa

Musa scored for a third straight match in Dallas' 4-0 win over D.C., taking him to 21 goals in the regular season since the beginning of June 2025.

The only MLS player with more regular-season goals in that time is Inter Miami's Lionel Messi (26), and Musa will be keen to continue his fine form here.

St. Louis – Brendan McSorley

McSorley scored the latest goal in St. Louis history (95:00) in the club's draw against NYCFC in their last league match.

It was also just the second headed goal scored in second-half stoppage time in MLS this season, after NYCFC's Tayvon Gray did so on March 1.

MATCH PREDICTION: FC DALLAS WIN

Dallas have both scored multiple goals and shut out St. Louis in all three home matches in the team's all-time series. That is tied for their longest such streak against a single opponent at home in team history, also doing so against the Philadelphia Union from March 2016 to February 2020.

In addition, the Toros are unbeaten in their last nine home games, the third-longest active home unbeaten streak in MLS.

A 10-game streak would give the Texas club their longest home unbeaten run in the regular season since an 18-match stretch from August 2020 to August 2021.

Following their draw against NYCFC, St. Louis have earned 16 points (W4 D4 L4) in 12 MLS matches since the beginning of last September. In the club's 12 matches immediately prior to that, they earned just seven points (W2 D1 L9).
