Rennes Sign Gomis From Dijon
Rennes sign Alfred Gomis from Dijon following the departure of Edouard Mendy to Chelsea
The fee for the 27-year-old is reportedly around €15m ($17.6m).
Rennes president Nicolas Holveck spoke about the signing:
“It is a relief because this was our big priority at the end of this transfer window. He was our preferred option and by far. It is a true source of satisfaction to be able to replace Édouard (Mendy) with a future great goalkeeper. He has had a bit of a similar journey, even if Alfred has always been in professional football, a bit more normal than Édouard who has a really atypical path. Alfred has been at several clubs, he has international experience. He showed last season in Ligue 1 that he has truly great talent.”
